Lake Mead Cruise & Hoover Dam
Enjoy a relaxing cruise on the deep blue waters of Lake Mead aboard the Desert Princess, an authentic Mississippi-style paddle wheel boat before exploring the wondrous Hoover Dam, an amazing feat of modern engineering.
This unforgettable tour combines a leisurely 90-minute cruise on picturesque Lake Mead with a thorough exploration of Hoover Dam which was the largest dam in the world at the time of its completion in 1935.
After being collected from your hotel, travel through the desert in a deluxe touring coach to Lake Mead and the launch point of the Desert Princess, an authentic Mississippi-style paddlewheel boat that was built especially to cruise these pristine blue waters.
Whatever the season, you'll enjoy the beauty and majesty of this area in comfort from one of the two enclosed decks or even feel the wind in your hair and the desert sun on your face up top on the open promenade deck.
A grilled lunch will be served to you while you are on the boat as you enjoy the spectacular sights including Arizona Paint Pots, Boulder Island, Colorado River and the surrounding volcanic rock of extinct volcanoes.
Back on dry land, continue to the Hoover Dam, an amazing feat of modern engineering that provides much of the electricity for California, Colorado and Nevada.
There will be approximately 2 hours to take pictures and explore. See the Exhibit Hall, Visitor's Center, the indoor and outdoor observation decks, and a 10 minute movie of the dam's original construction. The Power Plant Tour that takes you on an elevator ride down to the generator room is also included.
On the way back to Vegas, there is a bonus photo stop at the world famous 'Fabulous Las Vegas sign'.
