Swim with Wild Dolphins with Hotel Transfers

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the exhilaration of swimming with wild dolphins in their natural environment.

After an early hotel pick-up, you will board a state of the art dive charter vessel and head out into the calm turquoise ocean to find the 180 wild bottlenose dolphins that live in the sheltered waters of the bay.

Begin by cruising Rockingham's sheltered bays and islands in search of any of over 200 local dolphins. Once the skipper spots the first group of the day, an excited buzz takes over the boat, and the crew will ensure that you are fully prepared to enter the water.

Once in the water, you will be surrounded by flashing grey torpedoes and the water fills with whistles, splashes and laughter - both human and dolphin. They do not do tricks and no feeding is involved, just spend some time enjoying this wild encounter.

You will be provided with a wetsuit, snorkel and mask to enhance your experience and the cruise generally lasts around 3 hours, though it can last much longer as the dolphins are not always found in the same place. On return to the jetty, enjoy 45 minutes free time before the coach transfer back to Perth which takes approximately 45 minutes, then hotel drop offs will commence.

While dolphin interaction cannot be guaranteed, there is a 99% success rate on this excursion.

Terms & Conditions

  • Cruise departures are subject to weather conditions.
  • Although this excursion has a 99% success rate with encounters, unfortunately we do not offer refunds in the unlikely event that dolphins are not sighted as you will be experiencing wild dolphins in their natural environment and we cannot control Mother Nature.
  • All passengers participating in the Swim with Wild Dolphins tour will be required to sign a waiver of liability.
  • In the interest of crew and passenger safety, RWE crew will be wearing electric shark deterrents known as ‘Shark Shields’. Shark Shields website advises that ‘Direct contact with, or very close proximity to the antenna, may cause twitching of the surface muscles of the skin, in time with the slow pulsing of the signal. The conductive field readily travels through seawater, it being a better conductor than the human body. Thus the field tends to surround the body rather than penetrate it. Scientific tests show that the type of signal generated by the Shark Shield is unable to pass through body tissues, unlike radio waves or microwaves that readily penetrate the body, and therefore it poses no health problems for users. However, anyone with any health condition which could increase their sensitivity to the fields created by the Shark Shield should not use the device. Such conditions include heart disease, a history of heart attack, peripheral vascular disease, stroke, a history of fainting or epilepsy, lung disease, or if the user is on any prescription drugs that are administered for these conditions. People who have pacemakers or are pregnant must not use the Shark Shield and should also avoid swimming near any other person using the Shark Shield.
  • Don’t forget your swimming costume, towel, sunscreen, a hat and a warm jacket (the sea breeze can be cool, even during the summer).
  • Cruise concludes between 11.00am and 2.30pm, depending on dolphin activity.
