Teide Observatory Guided Tour
Explore one of the world’s top stargazing destinations at Teide Observatory, the largest solar observatory on Earth. Located in Tenerife, this premier site offers clear skies and optimal altitude. Join us for an engaging tour, featuring an introduction to Canary Islands astronomy, hands-on astrophysics workshops, and exclusive solar observations.
Discover why the Canary Islands are among the world’s top three stargazing destinations, alongside Chile and Hawaii, by visiting the Teide Observatory, the largest solar observatory on Earth. Located at an ideal latitude and altitude, the Canary Islands benefit from clear skies due to trade winds, making this observatory one of the most significant worldwide. Established in 1964, Teide Observatory’s origins trace back to English astronomer Piazzi Smyth, who in 1856 pioneered modern astronomy by conducting high-altitude observations from Tenerife.
Book your Teide Observatory experience today! Explore this scientific marvel, learn about ongoing research, and get an up-close look at the telescopes and projects led by the Canary Islands Institute of Astrophysics.
